This 3 day tour allows you to get in touch with locals and to explore Mekong Delta in depth: its year round vibrant rivers, endless rice fields and fantastic floating market.


Detailed program

Day 1: Sai Gon – Ben Tre – Homestay Mo Cay (L, D) 120km
Our guide and driver will pick you up at hotel in Sai Gon 08:30 am and transfer to Ben Tre, the capital of coconut in Vietnam. You arrive Ben Tre after about 2:30 hour driving. Take a boat on Mỏ cày river, sight-seeing lively activities along the river. Stop at one of coconut processing workshops organizing by local people. Transfer for Mỏ Cày market. Visit Tuyet Phuong coconut candy workshop, well known in Mỏ cày. Have lunch on boat.
In the afternoon take a boat a long the Mỏ cày river. Sight-seeing locale activities along river bank. Arrive in Hoà Lộc. Biking under coconut shades. Get on boat to enjoy fantastic sceneries of Hàm Luông river- a tributeries of Mekong river. Arriver in Cái Cấm canel. Stop at homestay. Check in. Relaxing with interesting activities such as rowing boat, catching shrimps in a creek,…
Take a rest. Join cooking together with family & have a diner, family talking. Overnight at homestay at Mo Cay

Day 2: Ben Tre – Cai Mon – Long Xuyen (B, L, D) 140km
Have breakfast at local house and then take bike around the village sight –seeing activities, visit local market, local workshop, rice field. Stop at Cai Mon to visit the Catholic church and gardens of bonsai. Lunch at the local restaurant on the way to Long Xuyen. Then transfer to the Tiger Island – Mỹ Hòa Hưng village. Visitors cycle around this village by bicycle to visit: Sawmill, the place villagers make Inscence stick, Rice field, Blacksmith, Carpenter. Dinner and overnight in the local family home.

Day 3: Long Xuyen – Sai Gon (B, L) 200km
In the early morning, by small boat, we cruise along canals passing locals rowing boat on the way to visit the Long Xuyen floating market, a bustling and little visited floating market in Mekong Delta. Then take a short Sa Dec town tour: visit Trung Vuong primary school. Continuing to Kien An Cung Pagoda. Stroll around Sa Dec Market along Sa Dec River bank. This small city of 30,000 inhabitants is fascinating in its unspoiled authenticity and undisturbed by tourists. It provides a glimpse of the delta where a few colonial houses still remain, including the "Chinaman's house" (from Duras'novel "The Lover", also made into a movie). On the way back to Sai Gon we pay a visit to a Cao Dai temple in Tan An city. It is not as big as the Cao Dai Holy See in Tay Ninh but still a beautiful replica for some insights into this exotic religion. Lunch at the local restaurant. Arrival Sai Gon, drop off at hotel. End of services
